The Mega Monsters Tour: Mastodon + Gojira @ Budweiser Stage (Toronto) - August 16th, 2023 - Photo Gallery + Show Write-Up

On August 16, 2023 The Mega Monsters co-headlining tour featuring Gojira and Mastodon took the Budweiser Stage in Toronto by storm and definitely did not disappoint.

First up was French heavy metal band, Gojira. This was definitely the highlight of the show for me being a fan of their music and seeing them live for the first time on a large stage was incredible. I was absolutely blown away. This show featured a 13 song setlist and an incredible drum solo by Mario Duplantier. He also got the crowd involved holding up a sign that said, “I can’t hear you” then as he continued with his solo and the crowd got louder, cheering him on he held up another sign that said “FUCK YEAH!” Their stage presence, intensity and pyrotechnics were epic and got the crowd going.

Next up was legendary American heavy metal band, Mastodon. The bursted on the stage starting the show with their heavy metal riffs and continued to bring this super heavy energy throughout  the entire set. This was accompanied by their trippy monster, psychedelic stage backdrop, it looked as if you were having a psychedelic nightmare, but it complimented the music and their stage presence so well. This band has been together for over 2 decades and it shows. What an epic show!
