Last night we had Dana out photographing Yoke Lore for us at Le Studio TD in Montreal, QC. Here are her photos from the show! Photos and Write-up by Sabrina Citta On August 16, 2023 The Mega Monsters co-headlining tour featuring Gojira and Mastodon took the Budweiser Stage in Toronto by storm and definitely did not disappoint. First up was French heavy metal band, Gojira. This was definitely the highlight of the show for me being a fan of their music and seeing them live for the first time on a large stage was incredible. I was absolutely blown away. This show featured a 13 song setlist and an incredible drum solo by Mario Duplantier. He also got the crowd involved holding up a sign that said, “I can’t hear you” then as he continued with his solo and the crowd got louder, cheering him on he held up another sign that said “FUCK YEAH!” Their stage presence, intensity and pyrotechnics were epic and got the crowd going. Next up was legendary American heavy metal band, Mastodon. The bursted on the stage starting the show with their heavy metal riffs and continued to bring this super heavy energy throughout the entire set. This was accompanied by their trippy monster, psychedelic stage backdrop, it looked as if you were having a psychedelic nightmare, but it complimented the music and their stage presence so well. This band has been together for over 2 decades and it shows. What an epic show! Here are the setlists for Gojira and Mastodon at Toronto’s Budweiser Stage:

On August 15th I had the pleasure of having the legendary Sir Rod Stewart in front of my camera. This was my first time seeing Rod Stewart live in concert and it may have been my only chance as he announced previously that his 2023 tour will be the end of his touring life, but that he will not be quitting music altogether. Musicians that have been in the game as long as Sir Rod Stewart know how to put on a great show. From beautifully dressed backup singers, a harp player, saxophone player, Rod has many other talented musicians on stage with him that add to the show and experience. He had few outfit changes throughout the evening that ranged from leopard print to wearing a yellow blazer with blue jeans to show his support in standing with Ukraine. Throughout the night he played a few of his hit songs like “Da Ya Think I’m Sexy?” And “Maggie May”, also some of his cover hits “The First Cut Is The Deepest” (Cat Stevens Cover) and “Some Guys Have All The Luck” (The Persuaders Cover) Here is the setlist from Sir Rod Stewarts show in Edmonton. Here are a few of the great artists that were in Edmonton recently for 2023 rendition the Edmonton Folk Music Festival. Photos and burbs by John Weed and Kylee Thompson James KeelaghanLong time festival favourite whose stories about the songs are as entertaining as the relatable troubadour songs themselves. (John Weed) Maria DunnLocal favourite and Juno award winner Maria Dunn was joined onstage by members of local folk stalwarts the McDades. A fine blend of North American Folk and traditional Celtic Folk music. (John Weed) Jill BarberThree time Juno Award nominated singer songwriter from East Van mixes folk, jazz & pop with plenty of humour thrown in. (John Weed) Le Vent Du NordProbably my favourite band of the weekend, Quebec’s Le Vent Du Nord play irresistibly danceable Quebecois folk music with excellent and educational storytelling between songs. (John Weed) Greensky BluegrassDirect from Kalamazoo Mi. (I’ve always wanted to type that), this fine quintet, play some mighty fine bluegrass (the hint is in the name I guess) with incredible jams thrown in the mix. (John Weed) Margo PriceCalls her music “Psychedelic Country” and performs it with pure Rock’n’Roll enthusiasm. Great live set. A highlight of the weekend. (John Weed) Gregory Alan Isakov Born in South Africa and raised in the states, Grammy Award nominated Gregory splits his time between creating music and farming in Colorado. (John Weed) Dakha BrakhaHad a large number of supporters in the crowd. Name means “To Give” and “To Take”. Not afraid to show their proud Ukrainian heritage (Kylee Thompson) WatchhouseFormerly known as Mandolin Orange. This duo has story driven song writing that all generations can enjoy. (Kylee Thompson) Vieux Farka ToureHad a wonderful mix of sound from reggae to blues. He had the audience dancing in their seats to the music. (Kylee Thompson) BrasstacticsA band I have had the pleasure of hearing and photographing a few times. They are bound to play a few songs you may know, but it’s very cool to hear those songs played on brass instruments. (Kylee Thompson) Jeremie AlbinoA great mix of Folk and Rock ’n’ Roll. Had the crowd stomping along to his tunes. Stage two was so packed to see him, I think he easily could’ve been on the main stage. (Kylee Thompson) Molly Tuttle and Golden HighwayMolly was one of the artists I was recommend to check out and she was fantastic. The entire band had great chemistry on stage and they were a pleasure to hear and photograph. (Kylee Thompson) Valerie JuneShe has so much emotion when she sings. she wore a wonderful bright coloured outfit while she was on stage. Her music covers so many genres. To say she’s talented is an understatement. She’s outstanding! (Kylee Thompson)

ICE NINE KILLSAugust Burns RedPhotos and Write-up by Kristin Breit Photography Saturday nights are for metal and mosh pits. That’s what Avenged Sevenfold brought to the Scotiabank Saddledome in Calgary over the weekend. Indie-alt artist Kim Dracula and Canadian post-hardcore band Alexisonfire kicked off the night with energetic and lively performances. The American heavy metal band began their set with frontman M. Shadows sitting on a chair in a ski mask that read “We love you” as stunning visuals flooded the stage and screens. Touring their new album “Life Is But A Dream…” Avenged Sevenfold performed new tracks such as “Game Over,” “Mattel,” and “Nobody,” while also playing older hits such as “Bat Country” and “Afterlife.” With explosive guitar solos, pounding drums, and electrifying vocals, the band created a memorable performance paired with their stunning stage designs. It’s a metal show you don’t want to miss! Setlist For Avenged Sevenfold:
