Anti-FlagCancer BatsDilly DallyDead TiredIndian GiverBarenaked Ladies @ Winspear Centre - Edmonton - December 5th, 2022 - Photo Gallery + Show Write-Up12/8/2022 By Kylee Thompson I’ve had the pleasure of photographing BNL a few times now but this was the first time for Music Addiction Magazine. That night it was wonderful hearing them in one of my favourite venues in the city of Edmonton the Winspear Centre. It was a rather chilly night in Edmonton and the guys made a point of poking fun at how cold it was in Edmonton. “Edmonton cold.” That gave me a good laugh. Normally during Christmas time, I’m one to cringe at any kind of Christmas music, but this show I quite enjoyed. They played a good mix of Christmas music but also some of their it hit songs as well like Brian Wilson, Pinch me, One week, and If I had $1,000,000. I’m only in my young 30’s so these guys have been playing music since before I was even born. I believe they said close to 35 years. They know how to preform and interact with their audience with jokes and stories. From Ed hoping Willie Nelson would cover one of their songs to poking fun that there is probably more lyrics in the Big Bang Theory Theme song then in a whole Blue Rodeo album. Wanting to beat the rush I headed out a few songs before the end and when I was in the lobby of the Winspear I thought I heard some Black Sabbath. Upon closer listening (as you can still watch and listen thanks to TV's in the lobby) what I actually heard was Santa Sabbath. To be completely honest since I'm normally one to cringe at Christmas music I’ve never listened to the Barenaked Ladies Christmas album but the metalhead in me really enjoyed that Christmas song. Looking forward to the next time I see the Barenaked Ladies again with or without Christmas music! Barenaked Ladies
