Photos and concert write-up by Kylee Thompson On August 15th Lamb of God delivered an electrifying performance at Scotiabank Saddledome, captivating the audience with their intense energy and powerful stage presence. The band's dynamic show included a setlist of fan favourites including "Laid to Rest" "Now You've Got Something to Die For" and "Redneck" along with other heavy metal classics, creating an unforgettable experience for all in attendance. Titled 'Ashes of the Leviathan,' this tour pays tribute to Lamb of God's Ashes of the Wake and Mastodon's Leviathan, both of which are celebrating their 20th anniversaries. Mastodon delivered a riveting and commanding performance at the Saddledome. Renowned for their intricate compositions and formidable stage presence, they captivated the audience with fan favorites like 'Blood and Thunder' and 'Steambreather,' creating an electrifying atmosphere that resonated throughout the venue. Opening the night were Malevolence and Kerry King. Malevolence delivered an intense fusion of heavy metal and hardcore, igniting the crowd with their thrilling energy and engaging performance. For those who may not know, Kerry King is a founding member of the iconic thrash metal band Slayer. Although Slayer is no longer touring, fans can still experience King’s incredible guitar skills live with his talented new bandmates in a city near them.
