USSPhoto's by Kylee Thompson Photography This past Friday we had Kylee Thompson out photographing Bad Religion for us at K-Day's in Edmonton, Alberta. Here are her photos! Bad ReligionPhotos by Kylee Thompson Photography Day 2 of Rockin’ Thunder in Edmonton kept the Main Stage energy consistent from start to finish, delivering a solid mix of Canadian talent and international rock icons. Default opened the Main Stage with a strong set of familiar post-grunge hits. Their straightforward, no-frills performance was tight and well-received, setting a solid tone for the day. The Trews followed with a lively, upbeat set packed with fan favourites. Their confident stage presence and steady pacing kept the crowd engaged throughout. Sam Roberts Band kept the momentum going with their melodic, radio-friendly rock. The crowd responded well to their mix of classic tracks and newer songs, with plenty of singalong moments. Stone Temple Pilots delivered one of the standout sets of the day. Their heavy riffs and mix of older hits and deeper cuts gave the Main Stage a punch of alternative rock energy that hit perfectly. Closing out the day, Weezer brought a polished, crowd-pleasing performance. Their blend of alt-rock staples and playful moments connected easily with the audience, creating a satisfying end to the Main Stage lineup. Overall, Day 2’s Main Stage shows felt well-paced and consistently strong, offering a blend of nostalgia, polished performances, and energy that kept the crowd locked in all day. The heat was blazing, but it didn’t stop anyone from showing up early, ready to rock out and soak in the fantastic lineup that kicked off this two-day festival. Queensrÿche opened the main stage and wasted no time hitting their stride. Their mix of melodic metal and soaring vocals got heads banging and fists in the air. A solid way to set the bar for the day. Up next, Toque brought a ton of energy and personality. It felt like a love letter to Canadian rock, tight musicianship, big hooks, and a crowd that sang along to almost every word. They clearly knew how to work an Edmonton audience. When Bret Michaels hit the stage, it was full glam-rock mode. From bandanas to big choruses, it was pure fun. You could tell people were living their teenage dream watching him tear through Poison hits under the open sky. Bret MichaelsToqueQueensrÿche |
